This position supports the Undersea Warfighting Development Center (UWDC) as an Undersea Warfighting (USW) Analyst at Commander Submarine Force Pacific Fleet (COMSUBPAC) Pearl Harbor HawaiiThe ideal candidate will design, observe, reconstruct, analyze, and report on submarine tactical development exercises in support of UWDC and COMSUBPAC objectives ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
o Design, plan, coordinate, and execute submarine exerciseso Collect data and reconstruct exerciseso Conduct analysis of submarine exercises and real-world operationso Author reports and briefs on submarine tacticso Present technical results to Navy and civilian organizationso Embark submarines for short periods to accomplish exercise objectiveso Establish and maintain effective professional working relationships with co-workers and customerso Follow policies and procedures as described in corporate manuals and directiveso Attend work each day during scheduled work hours unless on approved travel or time offo Perform occasional travel to contractor and customer siteso Carry out other duties as may be assigned or requestedPosition Requirements o Master's degree (MA/MS) in Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, or Applied ScienceBachelor's degree and significant in-field experience in quantitative submarine operations analysis may be acceptable in lieu of the Master's degree requiremento Extensive experience in submarine operations, analysis, and tactical developmento Experience as a team leader for tactical development projectso In-depth knowledge of current submarine tactical doctrine related to submarine search, approach, tracking and attacko In-depth knowledge of capabilities and limitations of submarine sensors, weapons, and combat systems including:
AN/BQQ-10 Sonar System and current TI/APBs; Advanced Towed Arrays; Submarine Digital Fire Control Systems; Sonar Tactical Decision Aid (STDA) and PCIMAT; MK-48 ADCAP torpedoeso Proven expertise in the experimental design and scientific analysis of structured tactical development exercises to evaluate new concepts, tactics, and procedureso Highly skilled in computer reconstruction of ship tracks and correlation of operational data, including the ability to deal with incomplete, poor quality or inconsistent datao Experience in drafting technical reports, memoranda, and briefing materialso Working knowledge of Underwater Range operations and capabilities at PMRF and SCOREo Capable of embarking exercise submarines as at-sea test director or observero Must obtain and maintain a government security clearanceo Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Applications, and other standard (Customer specified) applications.
